Description
Steps Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1600. It features roughcast walls and a thatched roof with three brick chimney stacks. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. It has three and four-light wooden-mullioned windows that are ovolo-moulded, except for two 19th-century casements on the first floor, which are situated under bonnet hoods. There is a door opening located between the first and second bays, framed with moulded wood and leading to a plank door. A flight of ten stone steps, some of which have been renewed in concrete, leads up to the door and is accompanied by an iron handrail. Inside, there is a fireplace with a broad wooden lintel and the roof is supported by two jointed crucks.
