Description
Milestone located on the roadside at NGR ST 6280 5498. This milestone dates from the 18th century and features a pier made of rough-hewn stone topped with a pyramidal shape, though it has some damage. A cast iron plate is affixed to the front, displaying the inscription: "THE BATH ROADS TO THE GUILDHALL BATH 13 M AND 2 FUR," along with a pointing hand in relief. It is noted as one of the best and most elaborate milestones in the county and is part of the Bath Turnpike Trust.
