Description

Pitway Farmhouse is a farmhouse, possibly with a core dating to the early 18th century. A datestone from 1707 has been reset on a later 19th-century range at the rear. The house has undergone alterations and additions in the early and late 19th century. The main 18th-century block is constructed of coursed rubble with stone dressings, stone copings, and a double Roman tile roof. The right-hand 19th-century extension has a slate roof. The original section is two storeys and five windows wide. The 19th-century addition is two storeys and two windows wide. The 18th-century section features 2-light and one 3-light 19th-century chamfered mullion windows on the ground floor, and 2-light mullions on the upper floor. The 19th-century wing has similar window arrangements. A doorway is located on the right-hand side, with a flat hood supported by carved brackets, leading to a 19th-century four-panel door featuring a rectangular fanlight. There are three brick stacks.
