Description

The ornamental bridge located in the pleasure grounds at the rear of Ston Easton Park dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and features a large central horseshoe-elliptical archway made with rough hewn voussoirs. There is a circular opening on each side of the bridge, and a string course at the base of the parapet, which is topped with dressed coping. This bridge is part of a romantic landscape, as noted in Country Life magazine on March 23, March 30, and April 6, 1945.
