Description

The stables and coach house at Ston Easton Park were built around 1769 for John Hippisley-Coxe. The structure is made of coursed and squared rubble, featuring an ashlar frieze, parapet, and coping, with freestone dressings and hipped slate roofs, although some slates are missing. The facade is nearly symmetrical and U-shaped, with projecting wings that roughly match the style of Ston Easton Park. It is a single storey building with a layout of 2:5:2 bays, including oval windows surrounded by freestone and glazed. There are three segmental-headed door openings, two of which have false-panelled doors made of freestone, while one is blocked. Additionally, there are three broad segmental-headed carriage openings, one fitted with 20th-century metal doors and another with a sliding panelled door. The right return features a pedimented central bay.
