Description
St Mary’s Church Centre, originally known as the Church Room, is a church building dated 1827, with restorations completed in 1896 and 1923, as indicated by a shield in the gable and above the west entrance. The structure is built of limestone rubble with Ham Hill stone dressings and features a crested slate roof.
The Church Street facade is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The ground floor includes two-light leaded windows with stone mullions for each light, featuring ogee heads and set beneath labelled hoodmoulds. On the first floor, there are three two-light mullioned leaded windows, each light having a trefoil head, all under a four-centred arch hoodmould within full dormers. A metal fire escape is located to the right of the first floor. The left return, or east front, has a similar window in the centre.
The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have been altered.
