Description

The war memorial located to the north of the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Chard is a First World War memorial dating from around 1920. It is made of limestone and features a plain tapering stone cross set on a stepped plinth. The memorial includes a carved depiction of the crucifixion and has incised names commemorating those who served in the war.
