Nos 10, 12 And 14 With Front Boundary Walls 5 Metres To North

Nos. 10, 12, and 14 are a terrace of three cottages, likely built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from cut and squared Ham stone with ashlar dressings, featuring double Roman clay tiles between coped gables and brick chimney stacks at the ends and in between. The cottages are two stories high and have a total of seven bays.

The windows have plain stone mullioned surrounds. No. 14, on the left, has three bays, with a three-light window in bay one, a timber casement in a former doorway in bay two (which has no window above), and a relocated doorway with a casement over in bay three. No. 12 has a plain boarded door with a glazed panel in bay four, followed by a three-light window in bay five. No. 10 is similar to No. 12 but has an added casement above the door in bay six. The interiors have not been seen.

There are boundary walls located five metres south of the houses, made of cut and squared local stone, approximately 1.5 metres high, topped with flat stone copings. These properties, attached to No. 8 on the west, along with their boundary walls, are part of an important group that contributes to the character of the village. The matching terrace at Nos. 18 to 22 has been altered too much to be included in this listing.
