Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 5 metres west of the tower of the Church of St James. It dates from the early 17th century and is made of ashlar sandstone. The tomb features a chamfered cornice and a moulded plinth that is flat-topped with an inscription in Gothic lettering, which is mostly illegible except for the date 1618. This tomb is part of a notable group of chest tombs in the area.
