Description
This gateway, located about 10 meters north of Stapleton Manor, was likely built around 1825. It is constructed from ham stone ashlar and features square piers with a plain plinth, an upper string course, and moulded bell-hip capitals, standing approximately 2.25 meters high. The gateway has quarter circle convex wing walls, which are about 1.75 meters high and end in matching piers, topped with plain copings. A timber farm-type gate has been installed. This gateway enhances the setting of Stapleton Manor and contributes positively to the streetscape.
