Description
No 6 Windmill Hill is a semi-detached cottage that is part of a terrace built in the early 19th century, with later alterations including the addition of bay windows. The cottage is constructed of painted brick in Flemish bond and has a clay tile roof with a brick stack on the right gable end. The layout consists of two cells and a cross passage, making it the right-hand cottage in a four-unit terrace that forms a wing to a central two-unit block. It stands two storeys high and features three bays. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has an inserted canted bay window with four panes by five panes on either side of a central door with four flush panels and a plain fanlight above. The entrance is sheltered by a flat-roofed wooden trellis work porch. The cottage is primarily listed for its group value with the adjoining No 5 and other nearby dwellings in the terrace.
