Description
No. 3 Windmill Hill is a semi-detached cottage that forms part of a terrace, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The cottage is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a painted facade, and features red sandstone rubble on the left return. The original double span clay tile roof has been altered to a single span, with coped verges and a brick stack on the left gable end. This is the left-hand dwelling of a four-unit terrace, standing two storeys high with three bays. It has 12-pane sash windows and a central six-panel raised and fielded door with a fanlight, which is partly obscured by a flat-roofed wooden trelliswork porch. There are also blocked door and window openings on the left return. The cottage abuts the larger dwelling known as The Old Manse to the right.
