Description

This building is a former cottage located 15 metres south of The Dogs, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a Bridgwater patent double angled clay tile roof with saw tooth ridge tiles and plain gables. A stone chimney stack with a moulded cap is situated on the east gable.

The cottage has two storeys and three bays on the south elevation. It includes a reserved chamfered mullioned window with two lights and a continuous string course above the three lower bays, along with labels above the upper windows. The centre bay has a 17th-century boarded door in a plain opening beneath a timber beam. To the right, there is a one-storey projection extending southwards, which houses a complete tackroom, topped with a goose weathervane on the chimney.

Internally, partitions have been removed, but a large fireplace remains, now converted to a laundry with two coppers. The cottage is of good group value with The Dogs.
