Description
This is a barn located about 50 metres behind Compton House, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble with dressed quoins and features a slate roof with coped verges and finials. The barn is two storeys high and has two door openings on the ground floor facing the road, both with plank doors. On the first floor, there are two circular pitching eyes set in dressed stone surrounds, along with a central divided plank door also in a dressed stone surround. Access to the first floor is provided by a flight of external rubble steps. There are single storey hipped roof outshuts on both the left and right sides of the barn.
