Description

Compton Court is a house dated 1840, as indicated by an incised beam in the roof. It is constructed of Doulting ashlar, with returns of coursed and squared rubble, and features end pilasters with vertical grooving, a modillion cornice, a parapet with plain coping, and a hipped slate roof. The house has large ashlar stacks with modillion capping.

The symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay design is in the Regency style. The windows are 12-pane sashes with additional margin lights in moulded architraves. The central bay projects slightly. The central door opening has a semi-circular head, leading to a four-panelled door and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars. A stone portico features twin Tuscan columns, pilasters to the wall, a flat entablature, a modillion cornice, and a blocking course.
