Description
No 3 Mantle Street is a building from the early 19th century, located on the north side of Mantle Street and adjacent to the coach house at No 1. It is a three-storey structure with a stucco front, featuring an eaves cornice and a slate roof. The facade includes two widely spaced sash windows in wooden frames, with glazing bars on the second floor. There is a small oculus to the right on the first floor. The building has 19th-century shop fronts, with the left one displaying panelled pilasters and Gothic glazing divisions, along with a return side facing west. To the right, there is a round-headed doorway with a moulded surround. The building, along with No 1, the gatepiers, gates, railings at No 1, the former coach house, and the garden wall at No 1 and No 3, forms a group with No 41 Fore Street.
