Description
No 6 Mantle Street is a Grade II listed building that dates from the early 19th century. It is a two-storey structure made of red brick, featuring painted dressings and a slate roof. The front has two windows on the ground floor, which are sashes with glazing bars, and both have painted lintels and keystones. There is a basement opening to the right of the building. To the left, there is a doorway with a painted lintel and keystone, plain wooden reveals, and a six-panel door that is accessed by three steps. This building adjoins No 4 and shares a continuous roof and street frontage. Nos 2 to 6 Mantle Street form a group with the United Reformed Church on Fore Street, as well as the lamp standards, railings, steps, and walls of the church, the Three Cups Hotel, and No 34 Fore Street.
