Description

No. 72 Selwood Road is a house dating from apparently after 1813. It is a two-window, three-storey building constructed of coursed and dressed rubble, which has been painted, with slight end piers. An ashlar band runs above the ground floor. The windows are glazing bar sashes with simple moulded architraves. Second-floor windows are casements, with a tablet between them bearing the initials 'J.H.B.' over a possible date stone. An arched doorway is on the left-hand side, featuring a wreathed fanlight with radiating details. The roof is slate-covered with coped verges. A two-and-a-half-storey extension to the rear has a mansard roof and is pantiled.
