Description
This is a row of 18th-century cottages situated at the angle where Christchurch Street East meets another road. The cottages are built of painted rubble with stone dressings. They are two storeys high and originally had two windows each, although No. 53 differs. The windows are sash windows; Nos. 54 and 55 retain their original glazing bars, while the other windows have plate glass or modern aluminium glazing. The window surrounds have a rolled inner edge, and No. 55 has wooden architraves. Each cottage has a panelled door sheltered by a moulded stone hood supported on brackets.
