Description

This is a group of four cottages, now used as three separate dwellings, built around 1800 and altered in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed rubble stone with a pantiled roof, featuring a coped verge on the right-hand side and stone stacks. The front has five window bays. Each cottage has a half-glazed door; a doorway is blocked to the right of the door to No. 84. The ground floor windows on Nos. 82 and 83 are pairs of 16-pane sashes, while No. 84 has a pair of 12-pane sashes flanking its doorway. The first floor has three pairs of 16-pane sashes to the right and two pairs of 12-pane sashes to the left. The rear of Nos. 82 and 83 have 20th-century outshuts, and a second floor has been added to the extension behind No. 83. No. 84 preserves a late 19th-century outshut with 4-pane sashes and 2-light casements.
