Description

A row of four cottages, likely dating from the 18th century. The walls are built of roughcast rendered rubble and cob, with Nos. 1 and 2 variously whitewashed and Nos. 3 and 4 colourwashed. They have thatched roofs with brick stacks at the gable ends and one axial brick stack. Each cottage originally had a single main room, with two storeys and later rear additions. There is a four-window arrangement of 19th-century centre-hinged casement windows, with six panes to each light, except at No. 3, where the windows are 20th-century replacements. A rubble buttress is located at the lower end and in the centre of the front, with 2-light casements on either side of a 20th-century door. Nos. 3 and 4 have 2-light casements flanking a 20th-century door; No. 3 has a thatched porch and No. 4, a pantiled porch. No. 1 has a gable entrance. The interiors have been altered.
