Description
The Three Pigeons is a public house that dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of rendered stone and cob, topped with a slate roof featuring brick stacks at each end and a ridge stack. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range, with 19th to 20th-century two-light casements. The left side has two windows with six panes per light, while the window above the doorway has nine panes per light, and the right end features a window with six small panes per light. There is a shallow Tuscan porch at the off-centre doorway, which contains a plank door with cover strips. To the left of the doorway, there is another entrance leading to a two-light casement with twelve panes per light. At the rear, there is a large canted bay window with a hipped slate roof, which has nine-paned sidelights and a central light with twenty-four panes. Inside, there is a single 17th-century roughly hewn truss with threaded purlins that is partly intact, while the rest of the roof structure was completely replaced in the 20th century.
