Description

Nethercot is a farmhouse with an attached granary, now divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century, with the granary added in the 18th century and remodelled in the mid-20th century. The building features roughcast over rubble and cob, with a double Roman tiled roof that is hipped to the right and gabled to the left. Brick stacks are set in from the left gable end and also in from the right at the end of the original building, with a large external stock stack on the rear elevation.

The structure is two storeys high and has seven bays with irregularly placed windows. On the left side (No 2), there are four 3-light casements with leaded panes on the first floor, while the ground floor has three 20th-century windows to the left of a plank door, which is approached by five steps and has a double Roman tiled lean-to porch. On the right side, the first floor features three 19th-century 2-light windows, and the ground floor has a 3-light window to the left of the entrance and two 2-light windows to the right. The entrance is enclosed by a glazed porch with a lean-to roof of double Roman tiles. There is an extension on the left return elevation. The interior of No 1 contains chamfered beams, while No 2 has not been viewed.
