Description

Treble's Holford Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has now been divided, dating from the late 16th century to the early 17th century, with external alterations made in the early 20th century. The building features a rendered exterior, triple Roman tiles, gables, and brick stacks. It has a three-cell and cross-passage plan, enlarged with slightly projecting gabled outer wings, facing south. The farmhouse is two storeys high and comprises six bays. The 20th-century windows include two, three, four, and six-light mullioned casements with leaded panes, and there are remnants of 17th-century ovolo moulded mullions on the first-floor east and west fronts of the projecting wings. The second and third bays also have gables. The main entrance is located in the second bay on the right, featuring a 20th-century door, with another entrance in the second bay on the left.

Inside, there are remains of a stud and panel screen to the left of the cross passage, and the kitchen to the right contains chamfered beams with diamond stops, along with a newel stair to the left of the fireplace. There is a room to the right of the cross passage, with a newel stair located behind the fireplace. The two central rooms on the right feature finely moulded four-compartment ceilings, with the inner room having a stud and panel screen on the north wall and a fireplace with a chamfered wooden lintel and moulded stone jambs.
