Description

Four gatepiers and a boundary wall fronting High Street at Thornes House date from the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The wall is made of red sandstone random rubble and sweeps down at either end to two pairs of gate piers that form the east and west entrances to the drive. These gatepiers are constructed from coursed, squared red sandstone. The entrances are linked by a 20th-century dwarfed sandstone rubble wall with brick coping.
