Description
The malthouse, which is now disused, is located at the south-west corner of Ford Farmhouse and dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a hipped slate roof. The building has three storeys above a basement and consists of four bays. There are voussoirs and keystones above the cross windows, and the upper storey is blocked. In the late 19th century, a three-light casement window was inserted in the outer bay on the left, with a plank door that is accessed by steps. The basement has three openings that are fitted with wooden shutters.
