Description

Lower Grant's Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse situated on the east side of Grant’s Lane, near Ford, Wiveliscombe Without. The building is constructed of cob and rendered rubble with a gabled thatched roof. It has an external rendered stepped chimney stack on the right-hand side and a brick chimney stack on the left. The farmhouse has two storeys and a 1:1:2 bay arrangement. The ground floor features sash windows with glazing bars. The upper floor has 2-light casement windows breaking through the eaves, with weatherboarded gables. A 20th-century glazed brick porch with a gabled corrugated iron roof and a 20th-century door is located centrally, and a gabled wooden porch with a corrugated iron roof and a plank door sits to the left.
