Description

SOUTH PETHERTON CP ST41NW YEABRIDGE 2/200 Range of cattle sheds about 80 metres north-north-west of Yeabridge House (formerly listed as Barns) 19.4.61

GV II

Cattle shed and cattle shelter. C19. Coursed rubble; hipped plain clay tiled roofs 'U'-plan, main block 2 storeys, side wings single-storey. North wing of 8 bays, now filled with C20 blockwork: east and west wings of 6 and 7 bays, open into courtyard with timber posts. Scissor truss roofs. Against south gable of east wing a cast-iron pump complete with handle and spout. The C20 building erected through the middle of the courtyard thus formed not of special interest. Part of an important group of C18 and C19 farm buildings (SSAVBRG Report, unpublished SR0, March 1983).
