Description

This is a 19th-century milepost located on the east side of Bath Road in Upper Downside, Shepton Mallet. The milepost is made of cast iron and features a canted top with a V-shaped section. On the right side, it reads "Bristol 19," while the left side states "Shepton Mallet 1," and the top indicates "Bath 16." This milepost is part of the Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
