Description

Former Unitarian Chapel. Built in 1696 and modified in the 18th century. The building is constructed of limestone rubble, now rendered, with a hipped slate roof. It is rectangular in plan. The facade has Jacobean-style doorways on either side, featuring shouldered moulded architraves, pulvinated friezes, and triangular pediments, with plank doors. Centrally, there are two large semi-circular headed windows, each with three lights and simple Gothic tracery. Cruciform mullions are set within moulded architraves above each doorway, again topped by triangular pediments; four similar openings are present on each return. A square-headed door opening on the right-hand elevation originally provided access to a gallery, which has now been removed.
