Description
The churchyard cross, located 7 metres north of the nave of the Church of St. Mary, dates from the late 13th century and was restored in the 19th century. It is made of sandstone and features a square calvary with one step, constructed from squared and coursed masonry. The base has a broached plinth that supports an octagonal shaft. On the west facade of the shaft, there is an attached sculptural group. Originally, the shaft was meant to hold a larger piece, and what remains seems to represent the lower part of a figure carrying a cross. The shaft is topped with an abacus cap, but the cross itself is missing.
