Pair of gates and attached railings approximately 15 metres east of Parish Church of St Mary

GV II

Pair of gates with overthrow. c1840. Cast-iron. Double full-height gates have horizontal friezes to the centres and bases, these are 4 large quatrefoils with closely-spaced vertical rails between each frieze. The railings above are connected by pointed arches at the top with circular-section pointed finials to each railing. The flanking columns, with panelled plinths, on which the gates hang, are hollow square section of similar design which support an ogee-arched overthrow with a crocketed finial to the top, elaborate ornament of quatrefoils, trefoils and scrolls to the intrados and a C20 lamp to the centre. This is flanked by C20 restored railings.
