Description
Squirrelsmead Cottage is a 16th-century cottage that was restored in the 20th century. It has a roughcast exterior and a double-Roman tiled roof, along with two brick stacks. The building is long and low in shape, functioning as an open-hall house that was later floored. It stands two storeys high and consists of three bays, featuring 2-light casements. There is a 20th-century lean-to porch at the front. Inside, the cottage contains significant features, including crucks with smoke blackening, as noted in an unpublished report by the Victoria Archaeological Group.
