Description
The Old Forge is a house dating from around 1600, constructed of colourwashed rubble with a thatched roof that has undulating eaves. It features three brick stacks, one of which rises from the eaves level. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. The windows are later additions, consisting of two and three-light casements with square-paned leaded lights. The central doorway is framed by a massive chamfered wooden architrave with a four-centred arch head, leading to a plank door with strap hinges. To the left, there is an annex built in a matching style, although it includes reproduction features from the late 20th century. Inside, the property contains notable features such as panelling, chamfered ceiling beams, and fireplaces with large wooden bressumers.
