Description

Red Post House is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of coursed rubble with brick dressings, has coped verges, brick stacks, and a slate roof. The house features a classical design with two storeys and a main portion that has three bays on one side and one bay on the other. It has sash windows with glazing bars and a fine Ham stone portico, although the door opening is blocked and a 2-light casement has been inserted. There is a single bay wing set back on the left side, which contains 2 and 3-light casements. The forecourt is enclosed by railings with acanthus capping and ornamental gates, and the house occupies a prominent position by the roadside.
