Description
The Fivehead War Memorial, dating from around 1920, is a war memorial that features a stylised Maltese cross carved from Doulting stone. This cross is set on an octagonal tapered shaft, which is mounted on a plinth. Below the plinth is an octagonal base that displays two bronze plaques on its south-east side. The first plaque lists names from the First World War, inscribed with the words "FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH" and the years 1914 and 1918. The second plaque commemorates a local man who died during the Second World War, along with the dates of that conflict. The entire structure is elevated on three octagonal steps.
