Description

Oldford Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse constructed of random rubble with dressed quoins and a stone tiled roof featuring coped verges. It has two ashlar stacks with moulded caps and three rubble stacks. The building is arranged in a T plan and has two storeys with attics, presenting a façade of two bays on the left and one bay on the right, which includes a projecting gabled wing.

The windows are primarily 2 and 3 light hollow-moulded stone-mullioned types, with some blocked openings. Most windows have stopped labels and relieving arches, while the ground floor features 20th-century casements. The right return of the projecting wing has a gabled dormer with a coped verge and a base for a finial, along with a 2 light stone mullioned window.

There are two door openings with 20th-century six-panelled doors. A semi-circular headed archway with rough hewn voussoirs and a relieving arch above is located on the ground floor of the left return of the projecting wing, allowing a stream to pass underneath at the basement level. A similar archway is found on the right return. To the left, there is a single storey wing with a coped verge, stone tiled roof, and a brick stack, featuring a 20th-century casement and a blocked 4-centred arch door opening in a deeply chamfered stone surround at the rear.
