Description

Oldford House is a house dating from 1820. It is constructed of random jointed ashlar, with a moulded cornice, coping to the parapet, and a triple-Roman tile roof featuring decorative ridge tiles and coped verges. There are three ashlar stacks with moulded caps, and a further rendered stack to the right, incorporating a bellcote and a bell.

The symmetrical garden front has two storeys and attics, with three bays. It features four-pane sash windows with marginal lights in bead-moulded stone surrounds to the first floor, and six-light French windows to the ground floor, within moulded stone architraves. The central door opening has a similarly moulded stone surround, housing a four-panelled door with the top two panels glazed. A verandah extends the full length of the ground floor frontage, covered by a tent canopy hood of metal with some glazed panels, supported by decorative cast iron.
