Description
A pair of attached cottages, dating to the mid-18th century with alterations made in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of random rubble with a concrete double-Roman tile roof and have four low rubble stacks. They are two storeys and attics, arranged with three bays to the left and three bays to the right. The left-hand return front features three-light stone-mullioned windows; two leaded lights remain in the left first floor opening, and a two-light opening is blocked in the centre of the first floor. A central door opening has a bead-moulded stone surround, containing a six-panelled door beneath a moulded slab hood supported by cut stone brackets. The right-hand return front predominantly features casement windows with glazing bars, except for a moulded two-light stone-mullioned window in the centre of the first floor. Two door openings contain plank doors. The rear elevation, which faces the road, has five bays with two and three-light moulded stone-mullioned windows, mostly with leaded lights, and four further single-light openings in similar surrounds. Additionally, there are two casements with glazing bars.
