Description
This is a pair of attached cottages known as Nos 1 and 2, dating from the 17th century with alterations made in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of random rubble with roughly dressed quoins on the right and a central quoin band. The roof is covered with concrete double-Roman tiles and features three rubble stacks capped with brick. The cottages are two storeys high and have a symmetrical facade with three bays on each side.
On the left, there are 2-light moulded stone-mullioned windows, while the right side has 19th-century chamfered stone-mullioned windows with stopped labels. Each cottage has a central door opening; the left cottage features a reproduction ribbed door set in a deeply chamfered 4-centred stone surround, and the right cottage has a plank door. There is a pent-roofed outshut to the left and another pent-roofed outshut set back to the right, which has double plank doors beneath a concrete lintel.
