Description

The village cross, dating from the 14th century, is located adjacent to The Bull Terrier in Croscombe. It is constructed from dressed stone and features an octagonal socket with a drip mould, set on three octagonal steps. The shaft is tapering and octagonal, topped with a restored faceted ball. This structure is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset county No 243) and is referenced in Pooley's "Old Crosses of Somerset" from 1877.
