Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations and additions from the late 19th century, including a range at the rear. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and features a double Roman tile roof with coped verges and end brick stacks. The layout is probably a cross-passage plan. The garden front has two storeys and an attic, consisting of three bays. It includes two-light moulded stone-mullioned windows with leaded lights set in cast-iron frames, along with some iron stanchions. There are also two sixteen-pane sash windows on the ground floor with rendered surrounds. The door opening between the first and second bays from the left features a plank door with strap hinges in a dressed surround. Inside, there is said to be a fireplace with a broad wooden bressumer and a winder staircase. This building is noted as the oldest in the parish, predating the general drainage of the surrounding moor, which occurred in the late 18th century.
