Description
The Rowans House, built in the early 19th century, features a hipped slate roof and is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, with one brick and one ashlar stack. The house has a symmetrical frontage with two storeys and three bays, each bay containing 16-pane sash windows. The central entrance has a semi-circular head door opening, which includes a six-panelled door, a fanlight, and a hood supported by wooden posts. There are single storeyed pent-roofed outshuts on each side of the house, with the left side featuring a 20th-century French window. Additionally, there are sections of curving wall on either side that terminate in a pier.
