Description

The summerhouse, located about 15 metres northwest of the Manor House, is a Grade II* listed garden house that dates back to the 18th century. It is constructed from Ham stone ashlar and features a hipped plain clay tiled roof behind parapets, along with a stone chimney stack. The building is single-storey with a five-bay south elevation. It has a plinth, cornice, and a shallow parapet with moulded coping. The central bay projects slightly and is topped with a small pediment. The windows are semi-circular arched, flanked by panelled-Tuscan pilasters and architraves, with the central bay being wider and higher. The outer bays contain 18-pane casement windows with radially glazed fanlights, while the central pair features six-pane French doors with three steps leading up to them, topped by a 'Y'-traceried fanlight. There is a small doorway on the west side, which has a pediment hood supported by console brackets. A 20th-century flat-roofed extension has been added to the north, and the interior has not been seen.
