Description

This building is a stable located to the north of Midway House, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble with freestone quoins, featuring coped verges and a slate roof that has three courses of stone tiles at the eaves. The stable has a symmetrical front, with two ground floor windows that are two-light, ovolo-moulded, and made of stone with mullions. There is an oval pitching eye on the first floor that contains an inset four-light casement window. The ground floor also has a broad door opening framed in freestone, which is fitted with paired glazed plank doors. This stable is primarily noted for its group value with nearby structures.
