Description
The Village Cross, located 30 metres east of the Carew Arms, is a 14th-century structure that was restored in the 19th century. It is made of red sandstone and features an octagonal base with two steps. The square socket has been crudely restored, and it supports an octagonal tapering shaft topped with a Greek cross. This cross is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument, listed as Somerset No.181, and is referenced in Pooley's "Old Crosses of Somerset" from 1877.
