Stables, About 40 Metres West Of Standerwick Court

The building is a wool store that has been converted into stables, located about 40 metres west of Standerwick Court. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of random rubble with a plinth course, plain end pilasters, and a moulded stone eaves cornice. The roof is hipped and covered with triple-Roman tiles. The structure is symmetrical and two storeys high, featuring seven four-keyed circular "wheel" windows on the first floor, with the first, third, fifth, and seventh windows being blank, while the second, fourth, and sixth are glazed with cast iron glazing bars arranged in a radiating pattern. On the ground floor, there are six semi-circular head windows set in moulded stone architraves with imposts and prominent keystones that extend to a plain band at the first floor level, with fixed light windows that also have glazing bars. The central door opening is framed by a similar surround, topped with an arched fanlight and flanked by double plank doors.
