Description
Trees Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with 19th-century alterations. It features random rubble construction with squared quoins and a triple-Roman tile roof, complemented by two end brick ridge stacks and an additional brick stack on the projecting gable at the rear. The facade is nearly symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and two bays. It has paired and triplicated narrow sash windows with glazing bars, which are set almost flush to the wall and topped with wooden lintels. The central door opening is surrounded by an ovolo-moulded and stopped frame, leading to a six-panelled door, and is topped by a flat wooden hood supported by wrought iron brackets. To the right, there is a contiguous two-storey outshut with one bay, which is lower in height and features similar paired sash windows. The door opening on the right return also has a reused ovolo-moulded and stopped surround leading to another six-panelled door. Inside, the left-hand ground floor room has moulded and stopped ceiling beams, a broad open fireplace with a chamfered lintel, and winder stairs.
