Description
Chestnut Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid 17th century. It is constructed of painted rubble with a slate roof and coped verges. The building features two ashlar stacks with moulded caps, one of which is to the left and made of brick, along with a further tall brick stack to the right that rises from the eaves. The farmhouse has a cross passage plan and is two storeys high with a two-bay and one-bay arrangement. The right side has a projecting gabled wing with early 19th century 12-pane sash windows, while the left side has early 19th century two and three-light casements, except for two 20th century casements with glazing bars on the ground floor. The door opening between the bay sets features a mid 19th century four-panelled door, all four panels of which are glazed.
