Description

Norville House is an early 19th-century house with a forecourt wall. The house is of roughcast construction with a slate roof, wide eaves, coped verges, and two brick end stacks. It has an L-shaped plan, with a symmetrical frontage of two storeys and three bays. The windows are tall 12-pane sashes. The central door opening contains a four-panelled door, a fanlight with radiating glazing bars, and a metal 'tent' canopy hood supported by decorative wooden latticework. A two-bay wing, matching in style, extends at a right angle to the rear. A rubble forecourt wall with plain coping rises to ramped ends adjacent to the house. The wall includes a pair of central rusticated ashlar gate piers, topped with hipped caps and ball finials, and a wrought iron gate.
